Nina Schick is a world-leading authority on (Generative) AI.
She has been named among the world’s 20 best speakers on AI, alongside others including Sam Altman, Demis Hassabis, and Geoffrey Hinton. She is also recognised as a LinkedIn ‘Top Voice’ on AI.
Nina analyses AI from the human angle. How will this exponential technology transform what it means to be human?
With over two decades of geopolitical experience, Nina has long been analysing macro-trends for society. Previously, she focused on emerging technology, advising global leaders, including Joe Biden, the President of the United States, and Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the former Secretary General of NATO.
Nina was among the first to identify that AI – particularly ‘Generative AI’ – would present a “tipping point for humanity.” She says, “This is not a story about technology; this is a story about humanity.”
Nina has been articulating a vision about the ‘AI inflexion point’’ years before ChatGPT made AI a global phenomenon.
Her debut book, ‘DEEPFAKES’ (2020), was the first to examine Generative AI’s broader impact on society. Translated into five languages and sold worldwide, it predicted many of the most salient risks associated with AI that have now become – and will continue to accelerate as– pressing global issues.
An advocate of responsible AI development, Nina is the Founder of Tamang Ventures, a firm that works exclusively with select companies at the frontier of AI development. She is proud to be an advisor to Synthesia, the world’s foremost AI video-generation platform. Synthesia joined the exclusive club of ‘Unicorn’ companies valued at over one billion dollars in June 2023.
Nina is also an advisor at Truepic, the cutting-edge technology company building solutions to ensure trust and integrity in visual media. TIME Magazine has twice recognised Truepic’s innovative technologies as ‘Invention of the Year.’
In addition, Nina is also the creator of ‘The Era of Generative AI’ – a 100K+ community featuring exclusive content and interviews with the PIONEERS of AI. Global thought leaders, including Sam Harris and Andrew Yang, have interviewed her about her work.
A renowned public speaker, Nina has appeared on stages including CES, TEDx, CogX, and WebSummit. She has worked with some of the world’s biggest companies and organisations, such as Microsoft, Adobe, DARPA, and the UN. She appears regularly on broadcast media and has been published by MIT Tech Review, WIRED and Time.
